James Candland

James has over 17 years experience in the public and private sectors working in government relations, public policy, corporate strategy and communications, as well as public and community relations. James’ private sector experience includes working with companies such as APS Energy Services and Siemens Corporation working in energy, technology, health care, and business solutions. He served for 6 years as the Chief of Staff to Supervisor Don Stapley on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. During this time on the Board of Supervisors, James developed and launched a successful “Green Government” initiative for the National Association of Counties. James has worked nationally with federal, state, and county elected officials on energy and infrastructure needs. James served nationally on the task force for energy with the National Association of Counties. He as also served on the Maricopa County Board of Health, and the Maricopa County Deferred Compensation Committee. James directed the successful re-election campaign for Supervisor Stapley in 2008, and has served on numerous campaigns for individuals seeking elections to state Senate and House of Representatives. James was elected in 2010 and 2014 to a four year term with the East Valley Institute of Technology governing school board. James has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Management and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
